Precious Amoaning Okyere is an early-career conservation practitioner with a strong academic foundation in natural resource management and practical experience in wildlife research, data collection, and environmental education. She serves as a Research Assistant at Alliance for Pangolin Conservation Ghana (Pangolin-Gh), supporting field surveys, data analysis, reporting, and conservation outreach activities.

Precious holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources Management from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi. Her undergraduate thesis focused on assessing the abundance and occupancy of Red River Hog (Potamochoerus porcus) in Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary using camera traps, demonstrating her competence in wildlife monitoring, camera trap surveys, and data-driven conservation research.
She has successfully completed her National Service with the Faculty of Renewable Natural Resources, KNUST, where she supported the coordination of lectures and academic events, assisted in supervising student assignments and final-year theses, and prepared official documentation such as minutes, recommendation letters, and reference letters.

Precious has contributed to several applied research initiatives, including camera trap surveys of flagship mammals in Bomfobiri Wildlife Sanctuary, eco-acoustic monitoring of bird species in the Ashanti Region, and a study on health and disease management of Ball Python. She has also participated in national scientific conferences, where she supported presentations and research dissemination.

Beyond research, Precious has demonstrated strong leadership and volunteer engagement. She has served as Women’s Commissioner of the Natural Resource Student Association (KNUST), Class Representative, and Treasurer of ARocha KNUST, contributing to student leadership development, environmental advocacy, and transparent financial management. She has also participated in tree planting initiatives, community conservation outreach, and youth mentorship programs.

At Pangolin-GH, Precious contributes to ecological monitoring, research documentation, and community-focused conservation actions. Her dedication, organizational skills, and growing research expertise strengthen the organization’s efforts to conserve pangolins and other threatened wildlife species in Ghana.
