What We Do

Pangolin Conservation

Pangolins are the world’s most trafficked mammals, and Ghana is home to two threatened species. Our work focuses on scientific research, field monitoring, anti-trafficking collaboration, community sensitization, and rescue operations.

We partner with local communities, security agencies, and research institutions to protect pangolins and secure their habitats.

Human–Elephant Coexistence

In northern Ghana, elephant movement through farmlands often results in crop damage and conflict.

Our program promotes coexistence by:

  • Mapping elephant movement
  • Supporting early-warning systems
  • Training communities in non-violent deterrents
  • Promoting livelihood alternatives such as beekeeping

We work closely with traditional leaders and the Wildlife Division to ensure solutions are locally driven and sustainable.

Habitat Restoration & Climate Action

We support ecosystem recovery by restoring degraded woodlands and forests using indigenous tree species.

Our restoration work improves wildlife habitats, enhances climate resilience, and supports rural livelihoods.

Activities include:

  • Community nursery development
  • Tree planting and maintenance
  • Assisted natural regeneration
  • Soil and water conservation

African Golden Cat Research

The African golden cat is West Africa’s only wild cat species and one of the continent’s least understood carnivores.

We conduct habitat surveys, camera trapping, and ecological assessments to generate data needed for its protection. Solutions are co-developed with forest-edge communities to reduce threats such as hunting and habitat loss.

Working closely with forest-edge communities, we co-develop practical solutions that reduce threats such as hunting, habitat loss, and human–wildlife conflict.

Environmental Education

We believe lasting conservation begins with awareness and community involvement.

Our programmes reach schools, youth groups, and local organizations, equipping young people with the knowledge and confidence to protect wildlife.

Through outreach activities such as wildlife clubs, community forums, behaviour-change campaigns, and youth-led initiatives, we help build a generation committed to environmental stewardship.
